Safety and support first of all
The Group has put all the measures in the field that are necessary for the protection of its employees in its company offices and in worksites all over Italy.
Taking care of and protecting our employees has always been a priority for Rekeep: in the more than 350 hospital facilities in which Rekeep is operating at the moment, the strictest protocols for safeguarding our personnel have been adopted at once, always and everywhere providing them with the protective equipment prescribed by ministry instructions and the various Health Trusts. We did so even when it was hard, at the beginning of March, to find facemasks and overalls and get them to our worksites quickly.
Financial support for employees who become sick and serology tests
As well as the necessary protective equipment, training and a manner of organising work that aims to cut down possible risks for workers as much as possible, Rekeep has also been giving further support to its employees in order to deal with the emergency:
- financial support for employees that catch the virus by taking out a supplementary policy through the ASIM Fund for this category.
- employees engaged under the Multiservizi collective agreement can have free serology tests, also provided in collaboration with the ASIM Fund.
Social distancing and remote working
At our head office at Zola Predosa, where about 350 persons had usually been at work up to the time the emergency started, counting office workers, middle managers and executives, measures for the prevention of possible infection were taken immediately, firstly by introducing remote working for most of our personnel while social distancing and hygiene measures were prepared to ensure the safety of those who have to be present in our offices in order to see that site work could continue to be carried out.
Shopping vouchers for colleagues in the front line
Rekeep Group Executives have donated a part of their salaries to colleagues that supported the Italian Health Service during the most acute stage in the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative led to 255 euro in shopping vouchers to be given to the employees working in the field of healthcare: a gesture of solidarity and nearness springing from contributions from Group Executives who decided to put 20% of their salaries for March and April into a fund, afterwards topped up by the Company itself, whose aim was to reward the approximately 5,200 Rekeep workers actually engaged in over 350 Italian healthcare facilities. An initiative conceived as a gesture of gratitude for all the Group employees that worked in hospitals all round Italy in March and April, providing sanitisation and maintenance services during the most acute stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, a commitment that, during the hardest phases of the emergency, even went beyond our personnel’s day-to-day professional duties, when they all gave proof of great responsibility, abnegation and involvement. The contribution was given in the same amount to sanitisation workers and engineers providing day-to-day maintenance or engaged in fitting out Covid-19 wards and workers in clothing storerooms and otherwise engaged in the factories of Servizi Ospedalieri S.p.A., the Group company that deals with laundering hospital linen and uniforms.
